nervous xD
Ever felt… NERVOUS?!
Right before the competition you look across the huge tournament ring thinking only…
“oh mygosh. I am finally here.”
What goes on in your head? You feel like puking. Your hands and feet cold. Biting your lips to ease the fear and excitement. Do you think you can do it? After all the hard work to come this far… Will is be worth it? All the mornings you wake up with muscle aches and all the vomiting after training. Is it enough?
Then when your event is called… you step forward to see so many other competitors in your category. Each looking so confident and strong while you? Timid. Afraid and unconfident. With your coach looking from the sidelines telling you to relax and calm down. Your friends texting you wishing good luck messages. Your Teamates seating in the spectators bench with high hopes in you.
And suddenly you find yourself in the middle of the ring bowing, showing proper manners to the judges. About to begin the series of movement you’ve practiced all this while toward perfection.
You struggle to remember the movements hoping that your kicks and stances will be balanced and accurate. Praying that you’d not screw up and end up far away from where you’ve started, for points will be deducted.
Trying to breath proper and show power and confidence when you clearly believe have none. Trying to relax the tensed muscle in your body and trying to balance when standing on one foot with the other suspended in the air. Trying to perform perfect foot work and techniques you have just recently learn in order to compete in this tournament. And moving in the correct rhythm and speed as shown by your coach.
It had been easier during practice. Why is it so hard now?!
Oh right. There a about hundreds pairs of eyes staring at you just waiting for you to screw up. After what seemed like a long long time. You finally finish your pattern. Bowing and moving out of the ring with your head held high.
Proud that you have managed to deliver the result of your training to the judges. Knowing the fact that you’ve tried your best.
